Dot: From the looks of that second one, it appears that she has an '03 Bird. Looks like a V8 script on the front fender.
Martin, it makes sense that her's would be an '03.
The movie did not come out till November of '02. I would assume that they offered her the coral one (a special painted '02) sometime in that time frame as they would have wanted to keep them under wraps until the movie was released.
She said that she would rather have a black one and the '03s were just coming out (remember the '03 production was delayed waiting on availability of the new engines) so she probably got a very early '03.
Just my theory on why her's is/was an '03.

Ah, that's cute......you still think of the Retro-Bird as a "head turner"!
If she was just another pretty woman living in small town America I'd be inclined to agree with you but Ms Berry is a wealthy woman living in and likely to be seen in places where a Retro-Bird, no matter how well cared for and perfect, has no more ability to impress or stand out than any other domestic car.
For her it is a very sedate choice.
Not that anyone here should feel slighted. Quite the opposite really.
Halley Barry is capable of buying driving most any car she wants. I'd imagine I'm not going out on a limb when I say I expect she owns more than one car. Assuming this photo is current......the idea that this is still her choice to own and drive is really a pretty impressive endorsement of the car.
If you search on Halle's cars, you'll find she has several to drive. The tbird is low on the photo finds so I assume she doesn't drive it often - if she still has it.
my recollection of the red line before the stop sign in Calif. is a no parking zone, not necessarily a fire zone.
yet there are plenty of newspaper stands right there beckoning someone in a car to get a paper from. of course, she didn't have a newspaper in hand.
