      Re: Looking for part

Speaking of parts, who sells parts online for the least moola? I need to get parts occasionally and I use a dealer 30 miles from me...and I'd bet while he is less than my local one, he is still more than a wholesaler. I couldn't find any info in a search, so, any suggestions?

....Well folks...in the same vein...took the roadster in to be winterized....my suspected steering rack leak is confirmed....at 125000km... contact dealer parts, no stock available....order would be vendor referral....to the tune of $1000.00 cdn.....LS rack has different part # and no one seems to know what makes the difference....and there is one available in Edmonton....for about $25.00 less...this does not include the 3 hours to r&r....in the meantime I'll keep the resrvoir topped up....and drive my 22 year old Mustang....

Hey 00mustng, Lucas oil products makes a power steering leak fix. [probably swells the 2 seals that are leaking]. I use their oil treatment in my semi-truck and their tranny fix in my v-8 85 astrovan. I have had very good luck with their products. Might be worth the $10 to give it a try...John

Maybe it's time to have one thread dedicated to 2002-2005 TBird Parts. As these cars get older we'll need this info, so if someone has lots of data, possibly they can start that thread.

John, That's a great idea. Lucas does make many fine products. I hope I remember that product if I ever need it. Ed

                    Re: Looking for part

                    Well here goes.
The number you gave me is actually an engineering number the real "part number " is
3W6Z 13C788 AA. and yes they are on D99 national back order. we can only place emergency orders for them and pay 17% of the part cost for freight or place a standard order and wait untill the off B/O date to cycle.
the off B/O date is 11/12/10 as of today ( these change and are pushed back regularly)

We tried the dealer locator system and there are NO dealers showing stock o.h. in the USA at this time. list price is $610.04 for the module. Your cost through us would be $315.69 plus freight ( aprox 47.00 if emergency ordered). there are only 4 of these on B/O in the ford system throughout the nation as of today.

Hope this helps I know it isn't good news.

THE ENGINEERING NUMBER IS THE PART NUMBER USED IN THE ASSEMBLY PLANTS. I NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY THAT NUMBER CHANGED WHEN IT WENT TO DEALER SERVICE PARTS.

comes up as a Lincoln part # also, according to Team Ford's parts inquiry web site.

Yes, it would be listed there also.

....and ya'll know I love a challenge. Soooo, Inquiry has been sent to FORD as to how many firm order's it would take to get this off of B/O. Obviously with only 4 in the system Country wide, it is not a high priority. Should have a reply in the AM.
