  • THUNDERBIRD SPIRITS CRUISE

Just got home from Tom's Cruise. Tom out did himself again. We had 56 T-Birds there. Over a 20 mile Cruise including a Poker Run ,fantastic goodie bags for all, door prizes, silent auction and a sit down plated lunch at one of the nicest Country Clubs in the Orlando area. A fantastic time was had by all.
Tom is already planning the next Cruises for April and next November.

This is a portion of the T-Birders attending.

Got back about 1/2 hour ago, seemed to make record time again. Was a great day, saw some familiar faces and alot of new ones as well. Was a great display of Thunderbirds with several older models mixed in the crowd. Tom's events are always well planned and the support from his family is amazing.

We enjoyed our first Florida event today, it was great! The huge turnout of Birds was so big that we had to split into three groups! Here are a few pics from today...

                Re: THUNDERBIRD SPIRITS CRUISE

Great pictures and thanks for sharing. The center picture in the last grouping is of special interest. I reconize the fellow in the red shirt and have not seen him for many years. Beleive he started a T'bird chapter in Florida after he moved there. LIttle known fact is that he recorded a song back in the Fifties and money from that went to purchase his first Tbird. A '59 if memorie serves me correct . Anyone know him that could verify this.

I am coming to the next one.
                    Looks like a great day.

Great Pix. I love the first one in the third group. The parking lot full of Tbirds. Fabulous! Needs more Merlot tho.

                      Re: THUNDERBIRD SPIRITS CRUISE

In response to requests earlier today, this is a copy of my toast to T Birds which I gave just prior to our lunch during THUNDERBIRD SPIRITS.

                      Hail to Thunderbirds

                      I propose a toast:

First to FORD Motor Company for inventing our T Birds.
Then to the WIXOM Plant for building our 50,000 Retros.
And, to the dealers across the land who sold them to the
                      American public.
And finally, to the car itself, our beloved T Birds.
                      Hail to Thunderbirds.

One of the loves of our lives. One of our faithful companions.
One of our favorites. One of our happy thoughts every day.
                      One of a kind.

                      Hail to Thunderbirds:
Toy to some. Treasure to others. Head turner. Tranquillizer. Energizer. Transporter. Entertainer. Source of pride. Source of pleasure.

                      T Birds - - - we salute you!
You bring joy to our lives. You lighten our burdens. You bind us together. You provide camaraderie. You have given birth to thousands of new friendships. You gave us our common ground. You made this gathering possible.

You are deeply embedded in our hearts.
May your future be long and storied.

Best wishes. To each and every T Bird. We are grateful for your presence in our lives. Hail to T Birds. Hail to their drivers and riders. All hail!!

                          Tom,
It looks like another great day! I'm looking forward to attending another one of your one day drives again in the future. Wish we could have seen all of you here at the Gulf, as well.

One thing about being TBird owners is we always have other TBird friends to play with and enjoy our cars together.

Thanks for the reply Tom. I was quite sure it was them but did not want to mention names just in case. Do they now own a retro bird as well ?
Beleive it was back in '99 when they hosted a national event back in the north east and at that show we had the 'red' concept retro bird on display. Will add a pictue with our '66.
Small world isn't it. Would love to attend one of your cruises. Maybe one day.

As Tom said empty the trunk ,Isabel and I went home with a full load of goodies. We will be at the next one for sure.
