Or maybe, the push to save the plant was over, so they didn't bother trying to promote the union and plant name anymore? My Cashmere was built on June 9th... and no sticker.

    Thanks

...maybe it was that the line was not Thunderbird specific at that point and that the Cashmere colour wasn't unique to the Thunderbird...so they would paint the Lincolns and the 'Birds together?

Where on the windshield would one find that sticker? I don't see one on my '05 Bronze. I do see the T-Bird emblem on the PPG notice at bottom center of the glass.

I BELIEVE THE PLANT INSTALLED STICKERS ON ALL WINDSHIELDS. WE FOUND THAT DEALERS WERE REMOVING THEM AT PRE-DELIVERY. NOT ALL DEALERS WENT TO THE TROUBLE OF REMOVING AND THAT IS WHY SOME ARE STILL THERE. OF COURSE, PREVIOUS OWNERS COULD HAVE REMOVED THEM.

Dot: Not sure is this is who you may be referring to but there was a man by the name of Adrian M. Clement that suplied John at the "Thunderbird Registry" with many of the new Retro Bird's info./ VIN's. As an example, check out all the '007's' on his site. Most likely Adrian worked at Wixom as well.

I remember that WixomPooh worked there, but believe it was a guy who posted when he saw Amadeus's VIN pass by.

It wasn't Adrian. He didn't start passing on info to John that first year but later. He did do work there as he was one of the many signers of the "last" Thunderbird built. there were a lot of vins that he missed so I really suspect that he was a supplier of some sort that frequented the plant.

Dot and Harry hadn't seen that before and thought that it was a boobo, they must have been running Lincolns through and stuck a sticker on my Bird. Another thing to remember if I ever have to replace the windshield, that sticker is coming with me.
This is a decal not a cling on, it will be destroyed when you try to remove it as a couple of other members have tried.

I met my 02 before it was stripped of anything by the dealer. In fact, they let me take any stickers I wanted off the car - which I did. There was no union sticker on the car. These union stickers on some windshields were not reported about until the 04 was well into production.

I too have every sticker that came on the car including the note saying it was picked at randum and was test driven for 48 miles while at Wixom.

Mine didn't have that even that note, David. with only 4 miles on it, they didn't test it out. Our salesman though took it for a short drive of about 6 miles and discovered that the AC wasn't working right. That was fixed before we ever signed the papers.

As some of you know I bought my '03 to be a daily driver replacing my '92 Cougar. I did use it as a daily driver for the 1st few months, then I found this place. Thanks all of you original members, you wrecked my life - lol - I now have 2 cars sitting in my garage that I put less than 500 miles on a year, thanks a lot.

Unfortunately I found the site too late, the only thing I was able to get was the “sticker” and that’s due to the saleswoman knowing what a special car I bought.

Dot, same thing here. I have pics of mine sitting in the dealers garage with all the stickers and white and clear plastic still on it. I had them save everything and it's now all in a box in my garage. They didn't understand but I even told them to just check all the fluids and not to touch it as far as cleaning it. My salesman drove it into their garage and that's the only time it was driven except for at the plant and off the hauler at the dealership.
