    Re: speakers

All I know...my kids can hear me coming from about a 1/4 mile away. Bass, no bass....you can hear me coming and going.

I believe I have the 'speaker line' type of hook up. However, I can't open the trunk since the battery is dead and I can't find the key fob.

(Yea, been awhile since I've driven it...thinking it might be easier to buy a new one than getting this one running.)

      Re: speakers

Car stereo is a complex environment including enclosed spaces mixed with personal taste. Head units are usually good for decent sound production. From there speakers, amps all play into the overall sound. Placement can make a difference. Treble is directional, Bass is omnidirectional. Placement of a tweeters is far more crucial than the sub. Different speakers have different characteristics and there are a bunch of excellent companies selling great speakers but there are also a bunch of crappy ones. Speakers in my opinion will make or break a car sound system. Now, personally, I like the sound of Quart and Infinity speakers. Some like the more bass sound of Kicker and others. Just don't get me started on Bose. "No highs, no lows, it must be Bose." Crutchfield's has a good information. Their consultants are knowledgeable and helpful.

Pink...use the manual lock located behind the driver seat to open the trunk.

Might work for Pinki but she can't find the remote fob, which probably has that key attached to it.

              Re: speakers

Actually, I found a key..but not with the fob? How'd that happen?
I thought of using the manual unlock, but won't the car horn go off, like I'm breaking into my own car?

If the alarm isn't armed it shouldn't go off. If you can get into the passenger compartment then it isn't armed.

If the cars unlocked and you don't see the little red light blinking in the middle of your windshield, on the dash, then it isn't armed.

                      Re: speakers

Unlocking the door with the key will disarm the alarm system.
