I own a 2003 with 78K, going on my 5th year. A week ago Tuesday I pulled into my neighborhood QT- the one that I use weekly, as a matter of fact I use the same pump. Filled her up with Premium like always and proceeded on the Highway. I work roughly 40 miles round trip from my home. Within 3 miles after filling up I started to feel hesitation, misfiring, etc- but no wrench or engine light. I made it to work called the dealership and I said I would drop it off on my way home. Halfway to the dealership the check engine light came on. I was thinking COPs again and left her at the dealer. They called me and asked if I had recently filled up and asked If I mistakenly put in E85. I said no I have the ticket, Premium and even called the QT store to verify my purchase, time of day, etc. The Manager at the store referred me to an 800 customer service number if I had a gas related issue. To make a long story short I picked up my car last night. The bill including my rental car, repayment of the gas, and the dealer invoice is right around $ 2400. The biggest item was the Sender and Pump Assy ( Fuel Pump) and the labor associated with Injector cleanse, lowering of the fuel tank, etc. They first drained the pump and cleaned the injectors but on the first test drive the Sender and Pump Assy failed. They then had to install the new Sender and Pump Assy. Today she is running great. I'm wondering have I been getting a bad blend all along. Also I didn’t realize that a Sender Pump would cost $ 958.00 without labor. QT is taking care of the bill- I had to pay for the repairs and they are reimbursing me. When I did call QT customer service the first time they did acknowldege an issue with the fuel on that day and the store number. Somehow Water was in the tank- in my tank alone based on the sample, more water than gas.

Re: QT Gas Issue
Years ago in Wyoming, Diesel was put in the gasoline storage tank. Gasoline was put in the Diesel.....Our Jeep Liberty went nuts....Shell paid the freight. Scary now days, tragedy, most companies are at the mercy of the employee that fills the storage tanks, picks the merchandise off the shelf, etc.Only those who will risk going too far
Can possibly find out how far one can go.

Re: QT Gas Issue
I've had several friends with gasoline "issues" over the years and nearly every one of them turned into a hassle. I'm glad to know there is a company like QT around that doesn't try to weasel out of their responsibility.sigpic
