  • How to mistreat a TBird

Had a garage sale this past Saturday. Lady in a 05 silver TBird came and bought some stuff including a good sized kids wagon. She already had a lot of stuff in her car and wanted to stuff the wagon in also. I tried to get her to drop the top so she would have more room but she said it was too cool (60 degrees). I ended up helping her stuff the wagon in the passenger seat and it was hard against the seat and lower dash. I wanted to at least use some towels she had there to act as a buffer but she said she was not worried about it. I bit my tongue and made it fit as best I could without harming the bird but I sure hated it.
I suspect some scuff marks will show up on the dash area by the time she gets it home and yanks it out. To her, it was just transportation. Unfortunately, not everyone feels the same way about their birds as we do.

And that makes our Birds even more valuable. People will be people and stupidity comes in many forms. Advantage is that quality cars bring top dollar if the time would ever come. I am still trying to recover an "abused" bird. I assure you I got it well worth the money because of the abuse....justice has a way of working out. Someone will obtain that Bird for a real good price and make it shine again. Paul..you need an 05?

I would have gone and rented a SUV before I would have treated that car in that way. Paul, I'm glad you were able to at least minimize the damage.

My wife would kill me if I came home with another bird. I like my 03 triple black they way it is with all the mods I have done but a pristine 05 Inca Gold would sure tempt me. If I ever had any damage to mine that required some major paint work, I would be tempted to redo it in the Inca Gold.

Well, aren't we a judgemental group. Lady uses her car as transportation and she's stupid and abusive? It's her vehicle and how she uses it is up to her. To some people, it's bolts, wheels, and body panels. To others, it's a rolling scupture of perfection. Who's right? Don't know. Do know that we all do things that other people disapprove of. Tollerance is what keeps us civil.

P.S. - Did you thank her for taking some of your cast offs and putting some cash in your pocket?

I agree that is it her car and she can treat is anyway she whats to. When I was shopping for my TBird, I saw some that were in pretty bad shape so I know what happens. However, it was still sad to see it in action.
Mine is not a garage queen and I use it every day to tote stuff around. However, I do it carefully and if I have something that might be a problem, I find other ways to get it moved.

Whoa, social commentary is not judgmental it is merely an observation. It has nothing to do with tolerance which can make a person passive, lacking opinion because of fear and politically correct robs us of personal character. Hang in there Sealy, opinions don't destroy inner being, the lack of them sure does. Therefore, I appreciate your insight even though you completely misread my post.
