  • How Do You Clean Light-Colored Tonneau Cover?

    T-Bird fans:
So... I have stains on my stone-colored tonneau color. What is a good way to clean it off?

    Ragtopp, perhaps?

    Please send out some suggestions.

    Thanks

I use this and just hose off and let dry in the sun.
You have to do the whole cover or it will show
what you cleaned and what you didn't clean

Years ago, I had a 70 Ford convertible with a white top. Tree sap and whatever else would turn the porous canvas dark. Back then, I used a Hand Cleaner, possibly Gojo (a thick white cream without the gritty texture) with amazing results.

Also have a Cashmere and Stone colored Tonneau, I cleaned mine a year or so ago with a spray on Woolite Carpet Cleaner. Did a good job, before cleaning I sprayed a spot of something that had gotten on it with some diluted Simple Green to tackle that area, then did the entire Tonneau with the Woolite. Came out looking like new. being a synthetic material, read the label of anything you use, synthetics can typically be cleaned good with a relatively gentle cleaner.
