I just joined this forum so that I could help a friend who has a 1973 Thunderbird to find parts he needs as he is restoring his car. He does not speak English and cannot get on here himself. I have very little interest in cars myself, but this is a good friend of mine and I would like very much to help him.

The first question I have is about the knob on the end of the shift stick. the car has an automatic transmission and the shifter is mounted on the steering column. All of the after-market shift knobs I've been able to find for this car are intended for a shift stick mounted down through the floor. Can anyone help me to find out how to get this part?

Welcome to TBN Eric. You could try some of these venders, or wrecking yards in your area who can search cross country, or go onto ebay and check under 1973 Thunderbird. Amazing what you will find. Good luck in your search.

Welcome! You might try these folks. They specialize in 70's birds and gave me good service when I needed a part for my 1975.
