A quick check of the pictures would indicate that this once great car has been road hard and is a bit tired -

There is enough for a fun drive on a Sunday afternoon -

I agree wholeheartedly! Moreover, it seems the seller is unrealistic. With all the work this car will need to make it crisp and stand tall, the reserve seems high.

And I would get this in a heartbeat
if I could convince Sue to let me cash in my Life Insurance!

I'm no early Bird expert, but that looks about as close to a new one as I've ever seen. Not inexpensive though. What a beauty.

Thanks for dangling the carrot in front of the horse, Jim! Good grief! I want that Bird! But my needs are bigger than my wants.

I'll take the trailer for the same price as the '56. Odd the '56 says 0 miles. Wonder how many miles it really has on it - or did I miss something

Don't think I will be buying a $69K T bird but it's probably worth that much or close to it. You can't do that calibre restoration with out a pristine car to start with. I seriously doubt that there is a huge profit in this car. Yes if I won a Lotto I'd buy it

I think my classic car days are over. After having broken my hip last December, while I'm doing better, I really have no desire to crawl around and under an old car anymore to keep it roadworthy. I prefer something like my 2 current T-Birds where I can just get in, drive, and enjoy.

Got to say, Greg, that this makes perfect sense to me. And while I don't have a broken hip in my history (glad you're doing better, by the way!), I no longer find the enjoyment of tackling these kind of projects. If I could afford the Minter '55 Bird, I also want the disposable income that comes with just keeping it on the road without me being on my back!

I'm seventy-two and can still get down on a creeper and crawl around
and under my cars like I did fifty years ago. It's the getting up part that I
haven't been able to figure out,oh my aching back.
