Torch red '56 in the new Dolly Parton Christmas special that aired tonight. Excellent TV movie btw.

The car, along with his retro was featured as thunderbird of the month recently. They belong to Jerry Drayton who lives in the Atlanta area.

            It's certainly a beautiful example.

I meant to thank you for posting this last show with Anna Kooiman. My kids and their significant others won't watch Fox but I do. They do admit, however, that the best looking women are on FOX. Maybe that's why it's called FOX NEWS.

I particularly like the black soft top with the red - very striking combo. Most seem to have the white soft top.

The cable network "Decades" is featuring a binge of 77 Sunset Strip all day today. Lots of Squarebirds (58-60), mostly driven by Efrem Zimbalist Jr's character. Brings back memories. Lots of other current year Fords too.

Thank you, 007Cruiser, for your kind words about my '56 Thunderbird which appeared in the recent Dolly Parton movie on NBC. When I purchased the car, it had a white soft top that was in need of replacement. Like you, I thought the black looked better. The car is actually Fiesta Red. I'll admit it photographed more like Torch Red on television. It is the same color that is on Ray and Sharon's 2003 007 Thunderbird. Speaking of Ray and Sharon--did you guys go on the most recent trip with the Atlanta Classic Thunderbird Club? Anyway, see you at the next meeting.

You're welcome, Jerry. I simply stated the obvious.

I mentioned to my wife that in '56 it would have been Fiesta Red instead of Torch Red, but that some folks restore them in Torch Red, because they prefer it. I suspect the movie makers "enhanced" the color to Christmas Red for the movie. At any rate it looked beautiful on the screen, as I'm sure it does in person.

My family swears that I'm colorblind. To my eyes the 2003 Coral has more orange than the 1956 Fiesta Red.

They originally wanted a Torch Red '55 Thunderbird, but settled on the '56, after seeing it at a car show. Amos Minter restores some '56 Thunderbirds in Torch Red. It actually looks good in that color. I am constantly asked the question, "What is that color called?"

I get the same question about my Coral.

He does indeed. He told us when several TBN folks were there a few years ago, that he does it for one reason -- because they sell well.
