Thanks for the comments guys. She's a good solid car. I call her a running project because there are a lot more moves I want to make to bring her up to the next level.
I'm currently dealing with a little roughness around 30-40 mph. Checked the tranny fluid and found it to be low. Added some fluid but the little quirk still happens from time to time. Otherwise I have no issues other than keeping under 90!
Right now I'm looking into getting a fresh paint job and contemplating whether or not I want to keep the ground effects. They look nice and give the car an extra little edge but I also like the sleek look that the stock 97's carried.
The owner before me liked the low pro tires but as soon as these are done I'm getting regulars again.
I like the nose on the 97, but I like the cleaner sides on the 94.
Great looking cars.

Jacob :
Seemed to recall a bit of that shudder on my '97 some time ago and added a bit of "LUCAS Transmission Fix" and that helped quite a bit.

Common problem with these cars.
Mine had the shudder, so did my bro/in/law's 94 TBird, my father/in/law's Crown Vic, and many of the TownCars that drove me to/from airports when I traveled on business.
I had to get mine rebuilt twice.
Now, she's not shuddering, but just drops out gear whenever she feels like it.
Good news, it doesn't happen a lot, and hasn't gotten worse since early 2008.
Bad news, the car's not worth another rebuild, so when the trans goes all the way, I'll need to replace the car.

Thanks Snow. I'll definitely check that out.
The check engine light came on and it says she's having a random misfire. First thing on Monday I'm going to change out the plugs/wires and work my way from there.
Where else on the net would anyone be excited about a 97 Thunderbird? Sorry can't get much enthusiasm up myself. I think this may help prove the point about mostly older gentlemen driving retros.
PS: I was on craigslist and I found a 98 Mark Viii 4.6 with 96, 000 on it for a $1000. Would it be a good investment to switch it out for the 4.6 I'm currently running on? Or would it be fool's gold?
