  • New Top

Many of us who drive our cars alot are going to be replacing our tops in the next year or so. Wife and I were talking over weekend and wondering how critical color is. Some cars came with a couple choices and some like our PCR did not. We think the lite sand would look good with the Monterey Mist, but are concerned if it would effect value much, even tho' we have no plans to ever sell. I think the sand would show dort and wear much less than the Ash Grey

Most buyers won't know the correct color, get what you like. You could also opt for black which is the easiest to maintain.

I don't think there is much difference in the Sand or Ash as far as wear or staining,
that said when it comes time to replace mine it will be white Vinyl!

Are there any pictures out there of a retro Tbird with a white vinyl top?

Black in Fl not a good idea, and all I have seen fade eventually. I have seen tan in vinyl , but not on a bird. I like vinyl, too

If you are worried about the top looking good without black marks or staining, I would definitely recommend staying away from the sand top. I switched my sand to a merlot top for just that reason.

I find this link to be helpful in looking at all the color combinations.

nm, I was not thinking soft top when I read the the posts. Well, in any event, the link is still great to see how mix and match body/top colors appear.

I recently replaced my light sand top that was in excellent condition but looked
terrible with a special made robbins in dark brown cloth. I think it looks great
                        on my cashmere bird.. tbird9

I don't care how hot it gets or what color top you have, it only takes less than a minute or two for the air to cool it down in these small cabins. Leroy

The thing about the AC that cracks me up is that we have dual zones. Really? For that little area? One zone could have avoided all those AC blend door problems.
