    Thunderbird Removable Top Interactive Guide CD

    I was looking over some TBird stuff I bought some time ago and came across a Thunderbird Removable Top Interactive Guide CD and an unused 2002 Thunderbird journal.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
    I am curious if others received the Thunderbird Removable Top Interactive Guide CD when they bought their Bird and if anyone has actually opened- used their copy of CD

    I think the CD came with all model years. Mine was missing when I bought the car used, so I don't actually know what's on it?

      It is a tutorial on proper removal and replacement of the hardtop. When I finally got my car back in October 2001, I watched it before I took the top off. I have not watched it since, but I still have it.
      Unbelivable TBN trips including ALL of the lower 48 States plus 9 Canadian Provinces, 8 European Countries, 3 Caribbean Countries, Countless National Parks and have attended well over 100 TBN Events since 2001 and counting. Best of all ... fabulous friends.

        Watched mine as soon as I took delivery of Goldilocks and read through the entire owners manual (didn't drive the car for 2 days till I knew everything I needed to know about it). Put everything safely away, should I get senile and need it again. Of course, if I get that senile, I'll probably forget where I put it, and in that case, I should probably stop driving.

          Watched mine once when we got the bird and put it back in the owners manual where it remains.

                There was no CD with my 03. There is a separate folder describing how to change the hard-top that is very complete. I believe that it details putting on the plastic strips as well.

                  Wow, can't believe it took so long for this topic to surface. Got a CD with my '02 and '05 and neither of them has been opened and are still in plastic shrink wrap. Would love to see the guide some day.

                    There is a hardtop removal CD donated to TBN Ten auction. If they have telephone bidding, you will have a chance to get it.

                      If one of us can extract the various film pieces and splice them together, it would be a great addition to youtube. I have some of them done, but not ready to upload, yet.

                          Richard, thanks for your offer I really appricate you offer but I do not need you to make me a copy of the cd. I think the copy of CD I have which is stilled sealed came with some other TBirds books I bought , I just did not know the CD came with car.

                            Mine did not come with the CD. I believe they came with all models and mine simply got lost over the years. But actually, I wish I had it. I may sound like a wuss to many of you, but I have developed a paranoia about taking off the top! I love this car and I keep imagining all the calamities which can happen as I take it off -- I can drop it on the car, denting it; I can drop the top on the floor and damage it; etc., etc. Is it difficult to take the top off? The dealer from whom I bought the car told me it was, and warned me, "Don't try it unless you've got someone with you who is strong and coordinated."

                              The top weighs about 83 pounds. It is absolutely a 2-man job. It is not hard to put on and off, but you should do it in the proper sequence.
