          Re: Thunderbird Picture Challenge II

After a little prodding I managed to get a lot of really nice photos to choose from for this challenge.

I liked them all and I appreciate the participation, but I think I'm going to go with Greg's picture at Devil's Tower. It a truly amazing and unmistakable National Monument and it looks great behind a beautiful VMG Thunderbird. Jackie posts so seldom that I never would have associated it with her avatar.

Here's a picture of Rosetta with Jewel in Bad Lands National Park. I've posted so many pictures of our travels with TBN, I beginning to forget which ones shown before, but I don't think I've posted this one.

Greg, time for you to pick the next challenge.

Thanks Paul! I'm the "scribe" here - Jackie uses her iPhone for WordFeud and WordsWithFriends.

Please pardon the delay in replying - kids and grandkids here from St. Paul for the week.

Our challenge topic: Unique Residences (aren't they all?). Can be ANYTHING, from prairie soddies or mountain cabins to Fifth Avenue Mansions: Anything that was initially constructed for human habitation........

Our candidate is the Steinbach House in Castroville Texas. This house from Alsace dating to the 30 Years War (1618-1648) was transplanted to Castroville TX in 1998. Castroville ("Little Alsace of Texas") was settled by Alsatian immigrants in the 1830's. It is here pictured with Jackie's MINTPTY in the foreground (Jackie is a native of Alsace). Picture was taken during our 2012 Aimless Driving trip (memorable for the 1500-mile two-lane blacktop trip back from Castroville to Bismarck in mid-March with the top DOWN the entire trip - unseasonably warm March that year!).

Looking forward to seeing all kinds of different "residences".... :)

Unique picture Martin, of a unique "residence" (OK to visit, but I wouldn't want to take up "residence" there....). :)

You win! Lay the next challenge on us!

Sorry, I have been preoccupied by the summer weather and remembered it was my turn to offer up the next challenge. Started going thru my photos to come up with a good idea, will try to be creative tonight and keep things rolling.

OK, just to keep things going, maybe besides Ron with his 8 TBirds (plus whatever), who has a photo of the most vehicles they own licence & insure ie. on the road. Currently I just have the 3 in my avitar but at one time I had 5, back in the days when I had a job (that's a 4 letter word for a lot of us, work) and before digital photos on my computer (will find it some day and scan it). I know a lot of us have summer toys and then the daily drivers, so show whatever you have to drive.

Ron , I would still be interested in seeing whatever other toys or winter beaters you have ( although you don't get winters like Canadians do) sorry to have singled you out but I knew you had a head start on other people. I would like to meet you (you look like a fine gentlemen ) and see your collection ( just jealous ) some day I may get to TN as I have 2 step grand kids living down there and Toni would love to get there to see them.

The mint green at Devisl Tower is one of the best pictures I've ever seen here. Was it ever a TOTM winner?
