    Re: Seat Covers

I've had the "Black Beads" on the seat for a while now and they do work. BUT they raise me up in the seat just enough that my line of sight is right below the sun visor. I can live with that if I slouch though. It's not so hot out now so the "Beads" are in the trunk. Not a bad way to keep cooler on a black leather seat. If you are not to tall I would recommend them.

A quick and easy solution to that is to lean the seats forward when you're out of the car. That usually shades enough of the seat to make them comfortable to sit back down on later. The other quick solution is to put the soft top up.
Dot; Here in Fl. I even do that with my mower.

I missed this earlier. Yes, this is the best SeatCover for a Thunderbird. It is an original and unfortunately for all of you there is only one and it belongs to me.

How did that dapper Southern gentleman, on the left in photo number 2, sneak into the picture?

                      Re: Seat Covers

Some of the seat covers shown here are attractive but not quite original. I can only imagine trying to replace a P.C.R. seat cover. How much would a non original cover devalue a car. The black seats with red stitching for the '02 look better than the original IMO.

This site may or may not be useful when looking for original leathers

                        http://www.perfectfit.com/15978/1540...d-Leather.html

They say "late model Fords", but I'm not sure how to link their colors to colors specified for the '02-'05 Thunderbird. Any suggestions?

The Retros (all years) leather has a very smooth surface.
Not true, the 2002 leather is very soft and thin whereas the 2003 and up seems thicker, rougher and has a texture to it.

True. The 2002 'Birds used Nudo leather, other years used Imola leather, as described in http://www.portholeauthority.com/the...2002inter.html

Brad, I was comparing only the surface of the Thunderbird OEM leather to the surface of the leather used by 'Leather Seats,' and based on the samples they sent me. Not the thickness.

"I've compared the Leather Seats samples to the leather in my 2002, and as may be able to see from the photos Beau posted, there's a pretty big difference in the actual leather surface. The Retros (all years) leather has a very smooth surface. The 'Leather Seats' leather has a 'pebble grain,' really no comparison to the Thunderbird."

Leather Seats will send samples upon request, at no charge. Neither the surface nor the colors of their leather samples match the Thunderbird OEM leather for any model year from 2002-2005.
