Archie, since PCR363 is taken, why don't you do as I did and make it 363-1K (rendition of 363/1000)
Can you have a "slash" in CA? We can't here in MO. If so, you could have 363/1K.
Is 363PCR taken? What about just 363?
So mine's 658-1K but I'm thinking of changing it to MOBIRD.

See my avatar.
Just got this plate before Christmas. Girl at Secretary of State told me someone was going to be disappointed, as they had it on a '66 T-Bird and let it lapse.

How did you check, Joe? I didn't think NC's DOT website would let you check. (they'd rather you send in your money [$50] and get your second choice!)
Joe has connections!
Karly you folks in NC are getting hosed. Your neighbors to the north in VA the fee is $10 for the personalized and $10 to $25 for any special background. The VA DOT website lets you check combinations to see if they are taken and if not you can put a hold on the plates you want for 90 days.
GrayGator72 Sun of Orange Sky of Blue God must be a Gator too!!
Hi Karyl: NC DOT gave constituents the ability to check and order on-line late last year. You cannot hold a plate: No Commitment with $$$ then No Plate: First come first serve. Here is the website address:
As for Tarheels getting "hosed", the surcharge for a vanity plate for 24 years was $25 and all profits after expenses went to the state Wildflower and Highway Beautification Program which has been very successful. It was raised last year to $50 after the 2003-2004 biennium in part to assist in raising revenue as the state had a $2 billion projected deficit. The percentage was also raised with the $25 increase to provide a larger percentage to the wildflower program as well.

Yeah, see there!!! We water our flowers with our HOSES!!
State of Michigan sent me a new plate this week for my T-Bird, told me to put this plate on my car and return the T BIRD plate, they said mine had been issued by mistake, that it was already issued to another person when they issued it to me.
I find it hard to belive they can issue it to me in December 2004, let me renew it in February 2005 and could not see that it was already issued to someone else till April.
I knew it was too good to be true when I got it.
I am disgusted!
I'm going to keep my avatar though, I don't think they can take that back.
