I also would suspect the valve cover gaskets as source of leak. If it were the oil pan or oil filter you would see oil spots on the garage floor. Unfortunately, the ford dealer is normally the worst place to take our Birds. Welcome to the nest.

Well I got everything cleaned off the bottom of my car and discovered that the leak was mostly from the valve cover gasket(s). However I also discovered that the drivers side valve cover had a crack in it along the lower back of it and had new gaskets on it, which tells me someone had replaced them and did not or did as that particular bolt was not tightened in an attempt to hope not torquing it down would stop it from opening up and leaking. Bad idea. So now I need a drivers side valve cover and they are a no go at FORD! The local bone yards do not have a 3.9L Ford engine that does not have a broken valve cover. I would normally just jb weld it and go on but it is a critical torque point and I figure it will just break open again and It also had a broken coil pack mount, I can only guess some one had an impact on it. So anyone have a drivers side valve cover laying around in their way? Thanks.
