Re: Good question.
I think that is the positive perspective we need to keep in focus for now. Our retros are still unique and attention getting. Whatever might replace or update them could dilute that. Hopefully, they will be synonymous with the name Thunderbird like the 55-57s are.Originally posted by BirdsAndBugs View PostAt the end, the Thunderbird returned to it's original roots as a 2 seat boulevard cruiser and the final year of production in 2005 was it's 50th anniversary. It went out on a high point; let's leave it at that.sigpic

Re: Good question.
The Thunderbird nameplate and legacy is far too valuable for Ford to abandon.
There WILL be another Thunderbird, though I don't know when or what type of car it will be.
That said, I will extend this wager to anyone here on TBN:
I'll bet ANY amount that there will be a new Thunderbird at some point in the future.
If Ford doesn't build one before either I or anyone betting against me passes, the bet is a 'push.'
Any takers?

Re: Good question.
I'd take the bet, Phil, except for your words "at some point in the future"...depending on how long it will be before it comes back, it may be my estate that would have to make the pay out!
(and it could be my estate making a payout to your estate!)

Re: Good question.
Good name,,,,,, but I wouldn't buy it. I drove a Tesla i Dallas and was impressed with performance, but wouldn't want to own one.Originally posted by 2DRBRD View PostIf they want to make it electric, then maybe, they should
change the name just slightly to THUNDERBOLT or THUNDERVOLT.
