Has anyone had their original soft boot recovered by an upholsterer and if so, do you recall the price range? Did they remove the old fabric or cover over? What about having a totally NEW boot made (Bill Coates?)? Thinking of having ours redone with Medium Steel Blue fabric.

Re: Recover Soft Boot??
Hi Steve, no I did not have a complete boot made from scratch. The upholstery/convertible shop took the black top layer off and replaced it with the saddle material that I provided (about $80). cost from memory was the better part of $200..... The black top layer was intact and I was able to have snaps added and a new border which gave us a good looking black top which was able to be rolled up and took little space . Was able to (never should have done it) sell the black for $150-$175??? making this rather major modification rather inexpensive.
Good luck.Bill Coates-Canfield, Ohio

Re: Recover Soft Boot??
I had mine done years ago. I think it was about $125. Covered over the black. Hardest part was finding red snaps.

Re: Recover Soft Boot??
Took my boot to an automotive upholstery place this morning to get a quote on recovering the boot. He just happened to have a bolt of Sunbrella fabric in stock that is a very close match to the blue top on our Medium Steel Blue and he is only charging me $120.00!!!! He will remove the factory black covering and cover with the new blue fabric. Will take pictures and try to post when I get it back. I am excited for this "new look"!
