    Re: Fingerprints...AAAUUURRRUUUGGGHHH!!!

I sure am glad to see that I'm not the only person who experiences this crisis. I hadn't shared my fingerprint issues with anyone for fear of social rejection until my wife mentioned her personal issues with closing the door, and then I unloaded my inner pain on her and now on ya'll.

I, too, use the "trunk latch loop method" to keep smudges off the trunk. I've got that one down to an art, now.

You'd only need one glove so you & the wife could split a pair. Hmmm, I wonder if Michael Jackson has a Thunderbird, that would explain his one glove thing...

I like the idea about the diaper. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a liquid to put on the diaper if necessary. I don't mean P by the way. Thx much silvrfox

I use the "trunk latch loop" method for the trunk (doesn't everyone?)
But for the door, I use my hand INSIDE of my sleeve. or rub it of with a shirttail . If I have on short sleeves, I bump it (gently) with my hip. After a couple of tries (start very gently) you will figure out exactly how much "body English" to throw into the door closing to just shut it but not slam it!

                Re: Fingerprints...AAAUUURRRUUUGGGHHH!!!

On the trunk I use two fingers on the large chrome portion of the bird emblem and pull the trunk down and close, then slide my fingers downward off the bird and remove the print.

When closing the door I use two fingers under the bottom ridge of the door handle and push the door closed. I open the doors the same way.....with my fingers pulling the lower ridge of the door pull. There are probably prints on the under back side of the door handle but you will need a mirror to see them.

Well, that explains the huge number of fingerprints I have found on the underside of the door handles when I check them with my dental mirror. I always wondered about that.

''and they'll have fun fun fun till daddy takes the t-bird away''...with a black on black I use the index finger on the window for the door , on the t-bird emblem for the trunk,... and I start seeing the shrink next week

Bruce,... the doorman thing is a great idea. I saw a few the other day down at a greenhouse selling bird bathes, feeders, pink flamingos and lantern bearing doormen (maybe they're called coachmen). Anyway, they only seem capable of holding a lawn light currently. Maybe with a different chip inside they can do doors.

KarylP is right about the deck lid. Just grab that "latcher-oner-thingy", pull down quickly, release and REMOVE the grabber-puller down hand connected to the latcher-oner-thingy [QUICKLY!], out of the path of the now descending deck lid. No problem,.. no fingerprints.
The side door I use the outside black molding at the base of the window for a two fingered fingerprintless door shut.

Just shut the door and the trunk and don't worry about it. Fifty years from now no one will care.

But the handle is painted! It's not like those old chrome ones I grew up with or a plastic handle like so many other vehicles.
