Okay - it is time to play.....where in the world is Dizzbe?

I am on my way for a whirl wind business trip. Within the next 10 days, I will hit both the East and West Coast of Australia (Perth & Adelaide). Then off to Singapore, and then to Shanghai, China to Wuxi, China and back to Shanghai for the trip back to SLC.

All for a business trip to roll out the beginning of a global system project in which I am the Finance lead. We may have a couple hours for fun, but the rest will be - office, airplane, and hotels.

Not really looking forward to the transit time and sleep loss. But at least most of the flights are going to be in business class, so I hope I'll be able to lay out and maybe get some sleep.

Next month we will be in Canada, and throughout Latin America.

In case I'm not able to log on - have a good week plus and for heaven's sake I hope the weather eases up for those in the midwest!

Good Day mates!

Well I am in Adelaide Australia. Had a good flight over - was upgraded to first class! Now that is the way to fly, had one of the bed seats. Pretty cool. It was a bit bumpy, but much easier to take when you are laying flat out & sleeping.

The only bad part so far was that my luggage didn't get here. They say it is coming in today, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Yesterday I spent over $600 just buying makeup, tolietries, shoes and an outfit for today. You can't even believe how expensive things are here. I bought a $12 pair of socks!! Back in the USA the same ones would have been $5 at Kohls. So United is going to get a nice little bill from me.

Here until Wednesday then off to Perth for a day. After that Singapore on Friday & China on Sat.

I am going to carry an extra set of clothes in my briefcase for the remaining flights.

Sounds like a helluva trip Vickie. I have always wanted to visit Australia and New Zealand. Looks like I may get it done in two years. Have a great trip and stay safe.

Well one word to the wise, when travelling international ALWAYS bring an extra outfit. Still no bag & we leave tomorrow for Perth.

Also I now have a cold - it must be from washing out my clothes each night and trying to get them dry by the morning.

Wish me luck today - on getting drugs and clothes!

Update - I did get my clothes finally after three days without. We arrived in Perth yesterday - did one site visit and then crashed at the hotel. VERY nice hotel. My cold is really worse, so I ended up staying in while the rest of the group went out to dinner.

Today (Thursday) we have toured two more sites and are ready to head to lunch and then while the others fly out at various stages today - I stay overnight and then fly out alone to Singapore tomorrow morning. Glad that the hotel is so nice - Perth Intercontential. Hopefully after another night in I can wipe out the cold.

After an over night stay in Singapore it is on to Shanghai, China - where yes Claire, we can finally work in some sightseeing.

Elle - no thunderbirds yet, but I did see a '60s Mustang with the steering wheel on the "Right" side of the car. THat has been really hard to get used to. I've almost been hit - well more times that I care to think about. The guy driving our car lived here 20 some years ago and acts like it was yesterday. Maybe in his mind - but NOT in his actions. We keep yelling - CAR whenever he goes awry.

Lots and lots of Fords in Australia, most I don't recognize the names of - but the blue oval is still the same. Gas prices and general prices are very expensive here, and salaries don't compensate. We may complain, but in retrospect - we have it pretty good.
