My parents taught me that as an adult, you handle things differently than you did as a child. You use tact and feeling before you speak and learn to control your fear and hatred. You learn how to forgive and forget or it will eat you alive. If you don't like the heat in the kitchen, you move to the family room or the back porch. If you don't like what goes on in a bar, and you like to drink, you do it at home. If you don't want to discuss something, don't get in the conversation.

Save the world events and politics for the editorial page in your paper. I'm sure you will find someone to engage a counterpoint to anything that is said. Even though the political/religious forum sounds benign on the surface, ill feelings are going to come out of it. I've spent many a minute trying to coerce members back after they got upset and left. Some came back and others are gone, possibly forever.

I do agree an all Tbird forum just about cars and mods is a little boring, but overall it would be nice if we could limit it things related to members, cars and car happenings, that includes personal events. We all enjoy learning about each other. I could give a 'hoot' about what happened over 20 years ago. If it came up again, then if I were to do anything, it certainly wouldn't be here.

I'm sure all the folks against the new forum are speaking from experience. Here again a little open speech, tempered with a little moderation and censorship, at times, is not so bad.

My low post count would indicate that I don't weigh in too often and there is never anything personal intended in anything I might post. I do read the forums of interest to me quite regularly though I am not as vociferous as some.

Geez.... Must have been some late night hours for some. You can get into some pretty heated arguments over cars too. Any subject you bring up, if people want to, they can be mean spirited and nasty about it. Cars, Motorcycles, dog breeds, sports, guns, and on and on and on. Its not the subject, its the attitude. People do feel more for some subjects than others, but agreeing to disagree isn't an argument. We could argue about the color of our cars too.
