Re: A/C On with the top down?

Top is down almost all of the time my Bird is out of hybernation. In the humid dog days of July & August the A/C is on. In the late Fall the heat is on and on really cold days (40s or below) heated seats and heat are on.
It too much fun not to drive top down.
The Climate Control Sytem and Heated Seats can rest for the 5 months my Bird is in hybernation.

      Bruce,

I would think you have tougher decisions to make than using the A/C with the top down.

For instance, which Thunderbird am I going to drive today.
It's hard to soar with T-Birds when you drive amongst turkeys!

I set the temp tp 70 and the air control to FLOOR.
That way it keets my tootsies cool, and negates the heat from the transmission tunnel!

Here in Sunny Florida the hard top is on in the summer. When the top is down, though, and it is HOT the a/c is on. It's something you HAVE to do in Florida.

Tell me it's not so. The hard top is on in the summer. It's more than I can deal with..

Re: A/C On with the top down?

I can not bring myself to put the top up in nice weather, so I do the following:

                      - Close the passenger-side vents if I am driving alone.
                      - Aim the driver-side vents toward me.
                      - Press the button for air flow through the vents and at the floor.
                      - Press the A/C button. (It defaults to off when hitting the button in step 3.)
                      - Turn the blower down to 3 or 4 bars.

This takes the uncomfortable heat out without feeling "air conditioned" and overworking the A/C. Try it. You will like it.

                        Rhonda,

We will remove the hardtop when the weather "cools" off some. Which is "Winter" here.

Not looking for sympathy here with the following..

Also, my wife [who is primary driver] has been fighting with cancer for the past 9 months and is cold/hot very often depending on her where her blood count is. With the top on the cabin temperture is easier to control. Lastly, she asked me to reinstall top for her....and as a good husband, "I do as I'm told". ;)

Just fyi...after two surgerys and lots of cemo & radiation she is doing GREAT !!!!

                          Dave,
If there's ever a reason, that's certainly a valid one. I just knew there had to be more to the story. I'll keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers. And Jim is right. Keep doing as you are told.

Dave...You keep that top on for her and take her on LOTS of rides in that Thunderbird!
I'm glad she is doing great. Keep us informed, and I'm praying.
