Have one hardtop, but never use it. The weather in Texas is mild and I don't want the marks that it makes in the paint. It seems no matter how careful you are it does mar the paint.
I have one hardtop, a white one for my Bright Atlantic Blue T-Bird, BUT, I can't seem to get it on! I have the winch for it, but, the back pins can't line seem to line up! I spent 3 hours the other day trying to get it on and I finally took it off, gave up! I cursed it out. I had a 56 and it was simple to put on, the big chrome plates in the trunk worked great, but, the new one doesn't have them, you don't see them, big deal...give me the old ones anyday, I've even been thinking about selling the one I have.

I have the ash hard top that comes with the PCR.
As others have said, love the way it looks with those opera windows.
And yes, feels like you have another car when you put it back on this time of year.
That said, can't wait for spring to get back to top-down cruising...
Wish it wasn't such a pain to put on and off, altho only have to that twice a year...

I have a wench but she can't lift the top!~
So, I have the neighbor kid [age 40, but grew up with my son, so he's still a kid] help me.
We always put the front pins in first and then line up one back pin and the other falls into place. Start to finish less than 10 minutes!

Richard, which pins are you dropping in first, front or back?
I would suggest you remove the plastic headliner and loosen the 3 screws on each side, then place the hardtop on, back pins first and allow the front pins to drop in for a perfect fit. Remember to tighten the screws after the hardtop is seated and snap the headliner back on.
I hope this might solve the problem, it is no fun to own that hardtop and not be able to use it.
I have a Bronze/Bronze 2005 Bird and I agree with Bronzebird that the combination is awesome. Marilyn, I'd love to see a pic of a black hat on a Bronze. A friend's yellow 2002 looks great with a black soft top, but no hardtop I could try. Mr Sam.
Sam, if you see a camera below a members avitar just click on it, and it will take you to the members gallery which will most likely contain pics of their car.

Sam, there are a few old pics in my gallery. Since those were posted, I've made a number of improvements in the appearance, but my camera is busted and I haven't resolved that problem. I now have the Neiman Marcus wheels, stainless rocker panels, V8 emblems, bird wings emblems in the portholes, etc. At least you can get the idea ... Click on the camera by my avatar, then click on each pic to enlarge.

2005 Bronze/Sand/Black ..... My THUNDER on the road!
I know what you mean Sal- My hard top spends its summers in the front parlor- There is no room in the garage to hang it- It does look pretty on the car- I hardly ever take the hardtop off the 57- The portholes is part of the Thunderbird charm- That and their cute faces-
