We have had quite a few threads concerning diecast car collecting over the past few weeks. We seem to have several guys and gals that collect them to some degree or another. I thought it would be fun to see who really has the diecast bug.

Re: Diecast Car Collectors Poll
Over the past three weeks, I have bought 12 (either thru ebay auctions or directly from vendors), 1 from a friend, and already had 2 retro 2002-2004 1:18 die cast models. I also bought a 1955 1:18 T-bird and that odd looking big pink bird with six wheels. I got the Ford dealership and the yellow birds on the train car. I've got three baby birds coming in the mail. I'm seriously watching three current auctions on ebay. I'm looking hard at the train layouts that some of our members have posted. Maybe I'll be getting into trains if I can find a vacant room in the house.
Have I got a bug? I don't know, but I'm having fun,fun, fun, while I'm doing it.

Re: Diecast Car Collectors Poll
Charlie, you are off to a good start (and a fast one). And I'd say you might have the bug pretty good. I'm afraid I have it much worse.
I'm sure there are well over 1000 diecast vehicles here in my computer room. I can count 88 Retro Thunderbirds, 43 Classic Thunderbirds and about 115 NASCAR Thunderbirds in Mark Martin #6 and #60 paint schemes in scales ranging from 1:144th to 1:18th. The rest are of various makes and models that range in scale from 1:144th to 1:12th.

Re: Diecast Car Collectors Poll
Any size Retro is fair game. As are Mustangs. 1:18ths only on other Ford Vehicles, and any Muscle cars. Naturally, any rare or minted diecast is alway's welcome also :)
I bid !DaveR (as seen on survelance TV)

Re: Diecast Car Collectors Poll
I was at a train show 2 weeks ago in Hampton, VA and one of the dealers had 1 package of 4 yellow retro birds on a car carrier. I don't know what the scale was, they were maybe 3 inches long or so. I had fun looking them over, but didn't buy them. The train layout in my living room is HO scale, so these were way too big, and with all the train stuff, there's not room for much else.

Re: Diecast Car Collectors Poll
Nikki - That was an 'O' scale train car with 4 birds on it
Charlie - Trains are fun. I have my set from 1939 (027) set up in the cellar and steeleblue5505, Mike, over in WA State has been a big help. He has a terriffic layout and has shared a lot of info and pictures. So even our TBird site has evolved
I don't have many diecasts, maybe 20 or so, but I do have a favorite, the Red Sox model. (Sorry Ray). You can get almost any team newTBird. If you want the site, I'll see if I can look it up for you.

Re: Diecast Car Collectors Poll
Some of us don't have just diecasts in our collection. In my office I have about 70 vehicles on display (1:24 and 1:18's) and most are plastic kits or modified kit models.
I've tired to capture some of them with photos but the mirrored display cases are hard to photograph.
Anyway, I thought I would share some of them.
