Brought mine new in September 2005 as part of "Ford End of the Model Year Sale" with their promotional employee's discount to the public. It was the last one of two on the show room floor at the dealership. It is a true garage queen\king with only 2300 miles in almost 4 1\2 years. It only comes out when the sun is shining and never if rain is in the forecast. No one else has ever driven the car except the Ford mechanic when he takes it into the shop for service! Yes, I am married. LOL

Ben, mine and yours are very similar! 2275 miles since May 2005. She did get rained on (hard top only - not the soft top) at Choo-Choo Thunder back in October, which was painful, but it was a fun event, so I'll get over it. My husband has driven her once, and my father has driven her once (he gave her to me as a graduation gift - how could I not let him drive?). I don't really mind other people (at least other good, safe drivers who are immediate family) driving her, but they never want to because they're afraid they'll be the person to put the first scratch or ding in her!

I see that I have not responded to this thread. Dot answered the poll with the '02 purchased new, so I will answer with the Inca Gold '05 that we puchased new in Florida after trying for several weeks to find a Inca Gold with White hardtop. The car we got did not come with a hardtop which was no big deal as we already had a white top with the '02.
There is a way around the poll restrictions, Dot reponded for one car and I did the second car.

We are the second owner --got her from a nice couple in Pompano Beach Fla. in Aug of '09 who had her since new ....original owner had some money problems from the stock problems last year and needed some $$$, so just happen to get on auto trader one morning and there she was...drove down 625 miles one way and Kathy drove her home...behind me in the older '97 bird.

Got her with 23.5K on the clock. Owner had all the goodies that was difficult to find when looking for a used one---and he had taken care of her very well--and garaged all the time.

Kathy had always wanted one every since they came out on '02--but the cost was too much then....we almost got one in Alt.Ga, in '04 while in a Marauder car meet--....a nice blue/green like color--haven't seen one like that since--can't remember the color name--but it was a color that just appealed to you the more you looked at it..

We still have her older one , a '97 black v-8--with 70K on the closk--thats her second one , a twin of the first she totlaed and it only had 50K on the clock--

So now we have four(4) Ford/L/M's in our fleet---

nice to have American cars.....no problems so far........

I fell in love with the Cashmere 2005 after seeing it at Conshocton last year. I started searching the internet. My husband wasn't as fond of it as I was, but now that we own one he's decided it's pretty nice!

We are now the proud owners of the first 'edition' a 1955 Bird that was customized in 1955, and the last 'edition' the 50th anniversary Cashmere.

We just returned from our first road trip since the purchase in Roanoke VA last year and had a wonderful trip to the East Coast!
