This i can say, when i replaced the original set of tires on my 03. with Eagle GtR'S the car was a different bird. It handled much better, felt better, and flew down the Parkway with total ease. steering was much tighter and road noise was no different than the old pilots, the tread pattern is way cool to look at as well. the profile is more aggressive and more substantial than the pilots. it truly was well worth my homework that i did on this change for my replacements. Landshark luvs the look and performance !!
just ordered the new tires for my bird 28.8k on org tires.....ordered cooper Zeon RS 3 high proformance tires.....local dealer original price $729 out the door...found them on internet from discounttire online...dealer matched the price......$530 on the car out the door.....pays to shop hard....
Original tire on 2002 but battery replaced at 4,000 miles. It has 4,200 miiles. i GUESS I AM TIRE SHOPPING.
see my last post.......shop internet, then local.....the three local shops including discount tire All said they would match internet pricing......it saved me $200,,,,,,
My 05 Jag S-Type had the identical Mich tyre on it that the bird has and I replaced them @ 35,000 w/ the Goodyear Response Edge - great tyre - wearing well, sticks like glue and looks good. Probably go w/ redlines or w/w's when the bird needs new shoes. Replaced the battery on the 02 this year - no real problems just time. WLW
I was decidely uncomfortable with the sidewall cracking on my Wifes Tbird so I went ahead and replaced the 23500 mile originals with Michlin Pilot Sport A/S Plus.
04 still have the originals with 60K on the. However they are done. To be honest I never cared for the handling even in rain my rear would get away from me around the mountain corners here. I'm thinking Good year Eagle this time. I see a couple people like prairie360 seem to like them and they are lookers.
she gets HER new shoes today.........29000 on org tires but almost to tread bars, goin on a trip 1st sept.....thought 7 years was enough on the org set............................
Still have the original michelins on our 02, however have only 12k miles or 20k km. The tires still look ok, but tire manufacturers recommend replacing tires after 10 years regardless of how many miles you have driven.
I think I will wait a little while longer before I replace them. My car is always garaged and do not get a lot of sunlight to dry out the rubber.
Cheers,
Jim
Have my tires on it around 40,000 miles, tread look good but they cracking in the middle of the treads, also have 85, 30 annv model with moon roof, only 5 thousands made, and two with moon roof, might be wrong but this is what I'd was told by a Ford rep. Need to sale both, cause of my health. ty for your time.
