Performance with a real bark to it, 4 wheel drive, driving coat, being able to survive a rollover, periodic high exhaust note, eyes that will melt the hardest heart of an official and a sloppy kiss at the end. Yes, that definitely puts you and your buddy in the running! You rock, Will!

I always said if Keith Code's Superbike school ever came to Elkhart Lake I would do it in a heartbeat. Early 80's it happened. I was a fan of the AMA Superbike Series and the school was there. It was a great experience.

When I was in high school I went to a one day school bus driving school.

They paid me. I got a one full credit towards my 16 credits need to graduate. Does that count? Only in Mississippi.

I just got invited a couple of weeks ago to attend a Cadillac driving school using the CTS in the beginning and graduating to the CTS-V version at Road Atlanta. Did anyone else get this invitation?

Thanks, Merlot4, you summed it up very well. But it looks like McKenzie almost hijacked this thread. Bad dog! On a more relevant note: I, like many, had driver's ed in high school. I found the stick shift (column-mounted in a Pontiac) so difficult I thought I'd never learned the art of the clutch pedal + stick co-ordination. And when I joined the Army (Oct. 1966) they made driver a secondary MOS for me, so I suppose there was some training to go with it (Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri), but I can't recall. Given a choice, I'd pick McKenzie over the Army. Will

Will - I, too learned on a "3-on--tree", and to this day, I'm still trying to shift my Expedition! Haven't driven one of those in probably 46-47 yrs, but the instinct lives on!

I took my drivers test in a VW Bus with 4 on the floor. First car I drove back and forth in the driveway was a Vauxhall when I was 14 with 3 on the tree.

God, I remember that film. And now when I look at it and see those steel dashboards, solid steering wheels and no seat belts...not even the original basic lap belt...
