In 1999 my wife and I considered a Mustang while looking for a car for her. Every 1999 Mustang on the lot had the 35th Anniversary badging. For the price of the Thunderbird, Ford should do the same thing on all 2005 model Thunderbirds in my opinion.

If Ford does in fact do a 50th anniversary limited production run, be prepared for $50,000+ T-Bird prices again; especially if it ends up being the final year for the Thunderbird.

Wait a year after they come out. Then you will be able to get that $50,000 bird for $37,000.

Keeping my 02 and buying a 50th anniversary T-Bird. Will sell the two together as a matched pair 25 years down the road. Will not break up the set. Buy both or none.

We have planned on buying the 05 Special Edition since before we got my Grey. I just hope and pray that the color will be a good one! There was discussion on another thread about it possibly being that rainbow-ish, metallic holographic color, like the Focus. I hope not! looks like a cd in the sun to me and hurts my eyes and gives me headaches! I'm hoping for dusky rose, but it'll most likely be bronze, which will be fine. It needs to be the most retro Bird yet.

For me it will depend on the colors, changes from the '03, the price and how the stock market is doing. The two things that the '04s have that I wish I had waited for are: inside light & Home Link across the top of window and the full "light sand" appearance package.

There is something I don't understand here. Ok, you know that the 2005 T-bird isn't gonna have any design changes, since Ford is ditching the bird after 2005. All they can really do is put some silly logo on the side of the car and maybe change the color. This is fine.

Now, how much does your T-bird depreciate the second you drive it off the car lot? 3000? 4000? If you buy a brand new 2003 T-bird, by the time the 2005 t-bird comes out, that is like 9000 dollars you are gonna be in the whole, esp if you are a brilliant trade-in buyer,(i.e., dealer gives you Bluebook value for your trade-in to make a huge profit). I think that for 9000 dollars, I can more than make my 2003 look like a 2005 tbird. Buying the same car right after you just bought a car, to me is not only stupid, it is retarded. An automobile is the absolute worst investment on the face of the planet. You bought your car, and if you make the minimum car payments, you WILL be negative on your loan for the tenure of your loan. You already have a nice car. Keep it.

Ford needs to address the problems on their current model before I would consider any other Ford product ! Don't get me wrong, I love my 2002 T-bird, and the way it drives & looks. I think Ford just wants us to go away ! And here I thought Ford had a "better idea". "PRETTYBIRD"

I guess I'll have to wait and see what 2005 1/2 is going to be. Presently, I don't see anything that would lure me into another car and away from my Yellow.

Steel Blue with Full Blue and Blue Top, sure sounds tempting, especially now with a vacant space in the garage (always room for one more toy)
