There are fewer than 50 votes out of more than 7000 members, perhaps this should taken into consideration....

You are right but the 1st owners should be excluded. So, how many 2nd, 3rd and so on owners are among the 7,000 members???

Most of the "7000 members" aren't active.

True enough, most of the 7K members are not active, but they are owners nonetheless, so unless there is a large enough sample it would be difficult to draw a conclusion based solely upon it. On the other hand, the target group for this car was a specific age group and other age group surveys seem to support this this. HOWEVER, since the price of these cars on average is presently less than a new Toyota, this may entice younger owners, so this will have to be an unknown factor; or, as Rumsfeld ambiguously said, "Unknown unknowns". This was clearly aimed at baby boomers and Alain has brought up the very intriguing question of who might be attracted to this car as we release these cars and other age groups who have no sentimental connection with the 50's/60's car era grow old enough to fit within the present age profile. A very, very, good question, Alain. I personally feel that the complete dependence upon TBird specific electronic modules that will no longer be available will, in the end, be the deciding factor for the future.

The question is indeed a good one and the conclusions drawm from the answers will be as varied as always in the collector car hobby. By the time many buyers can afford one their reason for buying changes. My desire to own a 56 grew steadily with age. Both mine and the cars.

Agree, a very good question. Interesting to see the demographics. Your English is just fine too, Alain.

This may turn out to be the most important issue.

Agreed. Hopefully places will be available to repair these things instead of throwing them out. We have a few electrical engineers here, do you think it's a possibility?

It is the same issue for most of the cars today after the 2,000 years, is not it?

For my case, I am a second owner and I just got 55, 3 weeks ago. I have never seen the 1955-63 tbirds in my life. Only on paper.

I bought my Tbird 2 years ago because I saw one on the street and I found that it was a pretty nice car. So, I decided to buy one. Enough room inside the car including the trunk. It is quite a pleasure to drive this car. Also, this summer on the street, I got many positive comments from youngest people (male and female) where the average was 25-30 years old. I think, they have never seen that car because they are quite a bit rare here.

I am an electrical engineer and it is a possibility. Ford should provide the spec if they are no longer providing the parts. Inputs, outputs, physical spec voltages and the firmware (source code). It is just to make the equivalent with the new electronic chips or components on the market for such an electronic module or device.

Do you think that your car will interest younger people? Do you think that if I have the Inca Gold number 1 will interest the youngest peole??? Unless it is given from father to son or daughter, maybe. There are many questions about what we think of our cars compare of what the youngest people are thinking about them. Just forget the nostalgia and what will be the future of these cars excluding the electronic issue. Do you see a futur of these of these cars for the next generations? I am talking about of the 1st owners.

Just to provide your comments.... That will be very interesting to hear about you.

                            Thanks,
                            Alain

Seeing the poll result, for the time being, for the 1st owner of these cars, are you proud of these results?

It is just a question to make any discusision about that topic.

Do you think that your Tbird will be an interesting asset for the next generations?

This is a very good discussion my friends. I hope seeing your comments.

                              Thanks,

About the first owners, your point of view will be very appreciated.

There is no question about it. Your comments will be read and understood
about the next owners. This is an open discussion without any criticals.
