  • BLUNBIRD, get over it and just stick the dam thing on your grill. No big deal. Are you ashamed of us????

Here is a pic of what I have on the front of my MGB.
They are Here. Scotty, beam me up!

    • Brenda,
I know what you mean, but if done tastfully, it will look fine. Most grill badges are not centered on the grill, they are usually placed to one side or the other. Even this can look good if spaced properly.

      • Gobird..............

None of yours are centered on anything! No wonder it doesn't bother you.

        • The one on 57TBird's car is on the passenger side of the grille. It looks very tasteful. I'll have Jerry go up there and take a picture and post it.
I wouldn't think the middle of the grill would be the best place anyway. Looks too "factory" there.
Gobird....I love the MGB and your emblems, but I don't think that picture helped the cause too much with that anal-retentive Blunbird!

            • No one has mentioned thier desire to not install the emblem on the car but to simply display the emblem at home, garage or office. I would like one to display at home or mount on the car if possible. I have posted examples of car badges in my gallery which are made for either display or mounting on the car via a badge bar. I worry about scratching my plastic grill on the Thunderbird, I have scratched a chrome grille with a badge before. Maybe rubber or plastic standoff's
behind the badge would prevent it, if done correctly. Visit my gallery for a few more ideas on badge designs. I can't remember how to link to my gallery so just click on the camera.

                • I've had medallions on all of my Caddy's and never had scratches on the grilles.
These are the gold ones that most of us old geezers have, and are transferred upon trade in to the new car.
They are no longer given out by GM. Stopped in about 1995, I believe.

                    • Joelja:
It's just a gimmick that signifes the number of Caddy's you have owned. They call it a Heritage Medallion.
These are diecast metal, 2 1/2" in diameter. On the outer ring, on top, it says "Cadillac Motor Car Division". On the bottom it says "Heritage of Ownership". The center, which is also diecast and removable, says "Cadillac" (in script) with a roman numeral of the number of Caddy's you have owned.
When you traded your car in for another, they used to move the old one to the new car and change the center medalion to reflect the number of your current Caddy.
I hope that this explains to all of those who have always wondered as you have. With our alligience to our T-Birds, it's something we'll never need, unless we wanted one with l or a ll on it

                      • HI George,
Thanks for the explanation. I've owned several Cadillacs and just let the medallion go with the car when I traded it. Never thought the medallion was very pretty anyhow. I hope we settle on one that has some meaningful color(s).
