really y'all... you are making this way too hard. this morning i took a blank cd, drilled 4 holes in it that were spaced so that they were just wider than 2 uprights in the grill and wide enough for one horizontal... see picture. then i used 2 nylon ties which are cheap and easy to use. total install time was less than 5 minutes. then i drove to atlanta for the papasito's III luncheon. I was hoping to show it off but the rain was pretty heavy and we had some serious eating and talking to do. my cd did not move a bit and worked like a charm. i think that a metal badge with a rubber type backing as a gasket using the nylon ties is the simplest way to attach. no foam gets in the way.
it's kind of hard to make out as i took the picture in the dark with the flash. i'll try and get a better one later. i do think that the cd at 4.5 inches is too big. more like 3.5 or 3 inches would do.

seeing as hou you drilled 4 holes... 4 loops like i drew B4 may work better than 2.... thanks for testing out my idea! i hope we can all agree on something and get this done no matter what way we decide to go. i think the badge will look hot. drew
