    Re: Who has original tires?

2004 PCR with originals.....21,781 miles. Will have to spring for new tires before we head up north in June for the Kentucky Bluegrass event.

Just as a side note - the 1968 Vette that sold for 800K on BJ last night had original tires

Put a set of new General tires from Team Ford Lincoln on my grey 03 Thunderbird in November. While they still looked good, I figured I would change them out. I want to be able to take any of my Thunderbirds out of town at any time and wasn't sure I trusted 10+ year old tires anymore. I'll probably change the tires on the 05 next year.

Changed the original battery at the same. Stoppped to fill gas it wouldn't start again. Fortunately I was near the house and my wife drove over in her car with a set of jumper cables.

Well I broke down and put new tires on my 02, the old ones only had 6750 on them but 13 years (41 of 01 manufacture date) was pushing it. Running Uniroyal Tiger Paws 235/55 17s now, they toss the speedometer off by 0.7 for every 20 mph. . . . . I can live with that. Still running the original infamous Firestone spare at 50 psi but it’s an inch shorter now, going to put a 215/60 17 on the original spare rim, tire guy says it will work, it will be ugly but it will work. Also looking for a 6 in rim for the new spare.

Has anyone easily placed a tire that size in their trunk and close it after getting a flat? It may have been because it was around midnight and 20 degrees, but I couldn't do it last month. At least the original spare tire performed admirably.
