The Queen has found her meds and all is well. Additionally, I have talked with Blunbird :talkphone and we will make the option of paying via Paypal a reality. Just as soon as I get a price on the patches the order form will go out. You should be able to complete the order form and return it to me via email, if you are going to use Paypal. There will be an additional charge for using Paypal since the badges are being sold at cost. I cannot absorb the Paypal charges.

For those that like the old fashion way, you'll be able to mail the payment directly to me, accompanied by the order form. This method the badge will be at cost plus shipping.

You should see the order form early next week, and remember, "God save the Queen!"

        Jerry,

You have now all the payment options, checks, money orders and PayPal. I believe you have covered all basis. Thank you.

The idea of selling on eBay contrary to some members statement is not to make a buck, but rather to help you to reduce your production cost.

Besides, if you or anybody else would decide to sell on eBay, it would give exposure to the Thunderbirdnest.com club. Many Thunderbird owners and funs still do not know about TBN. This would give them an opportunity to join us at TBN.

Not everybody is thinking to make a buck out of your Thundebird peers, as some people have stated.

Besides, let's remember we all live in a free country. Once you are the legal owner of an item, we all have the right to do with it, whatever we want to do with that item. Including selling it on eBay and/or any other way.

I hope this clears the air from the legal stand point of view for some of our members.

Thanks Frank, I don't have a problem other than getting the badges in folks hands. What they do with them is totally up to them. I would wish to see them on their cars or in their display cases. If they wish to sell them, then they are theirs and they can dispose of anyway them wish. I, personally, believe selling this item for profit, without benefiting TBN, is unethical. I'm not suggesting that anyone is planning on doing that, but it is the club's logo and now their badge. I am only working as a agent in getting the badge to the club members.

As far as production costs, we won't get a significant price break unless we buy 200 units. In all honesty, we won't make that number. I'll just be happy to see a payment from those who have indicated their intention. We'll know about all this soon.

In regards to the membership, if you haven't noticed we're gaining members in the last week at an accelerated rate. You would swear that we were having a membership drive, or something. If each new member were to purchase a badge, then there would be none for the older members within a month's time.

Maybe you could buy the second hundred badges and put them on Ebay with an ad reading. "Free TBN Membership with the purchase of a TBN grill badge." That way we could make the quota for the reduced cost.

            Jerry P.

I'm sure you already know this, but you'd be doing yourself and others a HUGE favor if you'd open yourself up a PAYPAL account.

I'm not the most tech-savvy guy in the world, and I did it in a matter of minutes.

And it doesn't take much to become "verified" either.

Great for all kinds of auctions, and the sale of items like this badge!

            What do you think?

                J.P.

I was catching up on posts, and read post #54 where you said that PayPal wasn't an option. I hadn't got to post #62.

It's OK, Tom, we're not that serious. No written contracts. I do realize there are folks out there that collect different auto club badges. In fact, there are businesses set up for those folks.

                    Must have been some dog.

Jerry, I for one do not like pay-pal. They keep a record of your credit card. Being in the information technology field its way way way too risky to give anyone your credit card number. Not known to most but E-Bay was compromised last week. The perps only got e-mail addresses but could have easily gotten credit card numbers. I am very interested in obtaining a patch & badge. Hopefully I won't be penalized for sending you a check. Checks are good. There should only be a cost adjustment for those who prefer to go via the Paypal method. The difference for snail mail would be the cost of a stamp.

Status has us nearly at our proposed number of 100 and the order form will most likely be posted Tuesday or Wednesday. The reason being the post office is closed today and I need an exact cost for shipping. Darn those Presidents.

Jerry: when the time comes to place your order for the patches, may I suggest you order a surplus? I feel new members will want patches and existing members will also want them as they purchase new items from Jeannie's store.

                                President's Day

Isn't it enough that we put their faces on our money, and even carved into mountainsides?

Why don't they lump President's Day in with Memorial Day, and quit closing down banks, post offices and the like, and quit giving people, especially government workers, an excuse to have another paid day off? Or even take MLK Day and President's Day, and make it into one "National Leaders" Day?

Of course, if I worked for the governement, I'm sure I'd feel differently.
