They should have never imposed upon you either for your sake or your car.

You were not wrong at all, in fact very nice about it. He could have gotten
his Arse out and walked home as far as I would be concerned. I just tell
people that there is no smoking in the car or house if I know they smoke.

Smokers just think they have the right to smell up and bother other people
      well times are changing.

Went to a club the other night with friends, first in at least 12 years, was
sick for 2 days after smelling that stuff.

          Re: Smoking

Well. I was goin' to be good, and let this pass....but naw. So for all you die hard Non-Smokers who are the Saints of the world out there (and from reading this threat there are definately a couple of you tuned in),Hear this. This is a free society. If you don't like it, move over, go find 'your' space. That space which is left for those of US who do smoke (and ENJOY IT) is getting scarcer everyday. I would not infringe upon any Non-Smoker, so I would expect the same respect in return. (IMHO)

everytime u light up it's infringment. I can dissagree with u all I want. I dont even ahve to like you. But I will respect your rights until they infringe upon my own....btw I like u just fine...my mother smokes...and so does my son....just not around me. I probably would too if it wasn't so bad for me and stinky.

Hey..how can pipes smell so good while burning and then make you stink like a cigarette smoker??

It is still his option whether to allow smoking in his auto is it not?

              Re: Smoking

My comment was not about smoking in one's private NEW T-Bird. It was directed to the FEMALE who took this thread way off Base.

Actually, Iwas hoping after my comment, this would get LOCKED & Tossed.

I think I liked it better when Moderators were arround. More eye's to see with. IMHO

                  Lynda,
Who are any of us to judge smokers or alcholics, or anyone else. This is a personal issue and I feel this was very unfair of you to put smokers down, with your last comment.
Yes, I am a smoker & a retired nurse, at that. Do I know it is bad for my health? You bet I do. But so are so many other things people do, not to even bring that up here. Am I a courteous smoker ? You Bet I am. I always ask the person whose home I am in or even if out of doors, if smoking bothers them. If they say Yes, then I either move to another place or I don't smoke near them. Do I "STINK" from my smoking??? No way !!!!I am a very clean person and I shower more then once daily. Can I exercise daily, because I smoke? Probably more then you and I walk with two crutches. Walk twice a day and I feel great. I also swim daily in our pool without "Loss of Breath".
I respect other peoples feelings and preferance to smokers, but YOU have NO right to JUDGE ME!!!!!! Maybe you have vices that others do not like, but would they be so harsh on you. I do care about my health, so MYOB, on smokers.
I am sorry to all the rest of you TBNers, but respectability of ones life is private, unless it involves you , like it did Mike. My friends are my friends: smokers or non smokers. So Lynda, just don't be so judgemental, as if smokers have some awful disease.
                  Case closed on my part

Well Paul (Bay B) and I went round and round on this issue earlier. I think we agreed to disagree in the end.

Dave your quote hit on a point I was trying to make. I feel most smokers do not intentionally want to bother non-smokers. You say you "would not infringe upon any non-smoker, and you would expect the same in return".

Smokers do not realize their smoke and smell don't stay in "their space", it drifts into "our space". Ex-smokers feel this more acutely than someone who has never smoked. But all that drifts from the "non-smoker's space" into the smokers space is clean air that goes un-noticed.

I'm reminded of an old saying " never take a knife to a gun fight"

This all I'll say on the subject, it is not my intent to stir things up again and I don't want to alienate smokers or non-smokers, that's not what this website is all about.

Hey, wait a minute! I PRIVATELY asked Justin to close that Bart Mack Word game thread, and then when I said publicaly that I had done that,...well...I got blasted, sniped, flamed, scorned, shunned, pm'd, emailed, and dog bit by those who go there (some I feel, just to build posts). You bet I did!

This isn't fair! He didn't close THAT thread!

I think you guys should get back to the topic at hand and lay off each other. Do you want people to smoke in your bird... yes or no. Pretty simple... dont have something nice to say? Then just vote.

I think all the smoking has broken your smeller. Thanks for the offer, but offers of kisses from a smoker isn't all that big a deal to me. I think every adult that wants to should be able to smoke, as long as they don't exhale! This is not a health issue with me, I think the science on the damage of second hand smoke is ludicrous, but I do know that when someone is smoking anywhere near me, even outdoors, my nose stops up immediately. I see no reason why I should have to put up with that. Take up some other nasty personal habit in public that doesn't affect others, please.
