Just wondering if anyone has used Road Force Balancing. We have set of new tires on Vintage Merlot that Bonnie insists the rear passenger tire is making a repetitive noise at speeds between 75 and 80 mph. Kind of a rotating swishing noise. Similar to the sound DavidA explaind to me about his Hollywood days. I have had tire balanced twice. The second balance helped some what but now I am constantly trying to to hear it. It's possibly a phantom noise I am hearing. I also think I feel a verrrry slight vibration. So in the morning I am taking it to the shop for a Road Force Balance and am wondering if anyone here has experience with the process.

Road Force Wheel Balance

Had it done on several of cars and the retro. It is much more precise. They had to do it to the retro and admitted that the style of wheel ( factorY) is difficult to balance. Also the sound and vibration can be a bearing in the axle{s} or the rear end pumpkin. I had a similar sound I too identified as as rotational on my 2015 Mustang , which also like the retro has independent rear suspension. the whole rear end was replaced due to bearing failure>I would suggest if the rear end has a drain plug have them check to see if the fluid has any debris
in there.

For the most time you do not hear a wheel out of balance, just the vibration. I have had three rear wheel bearings replaced and the noise does get worse as they go bad.Last edited by 4LOWBIRDS+7; Apr 17, 2018, 01:38 PM.02 Nieman Marcus-SS htp-f/sil. #165 - 21 states-DC

Sounds like tire wear. Either replace the tires or live with it. It they aren't vibrating the road force balance won't do a thing. Mine will start making these noises when the tires have 15 k or so on them. These are tires (Ohtsu FP7000) that will be lucky to go 20-25k miles. A tire that has good wear characteristics will probably go 30k before you start hearing a the noise. My Ohtsu's road balance just fine and never had a vibration until I rotated them and now the fronts have a vibration which I feel through the steering wheel (higher speed vibration) and when slowing up below 25mph. Balancing won't help that.
