Well, per our earlier conversation, I think trading in with the dealer and getting a trade-in value and saving some sales tax will probably make the most sense. If it has tears in the upholstery, I personally think that will be somewhat challenging to sell as a private party. Since we haven't seen any photos, I'm not sure whether is it something an upholstery shop could readily address without costing too much money.

What kind of shop exactly? I remember asking this question before and getting a good answer but can't find that postOriginally posted by 007Cruiser View PostI would definitely look into repairing the seats. A skilled shop can work wonders. Good luck with your sale.
Yes I'm in Las Vegas for those wondering, the other concern I have is buying a new car here it's really hard to get a good deal. All the good deals are in California.
I will post some pictures and more information tomorrow

I was hoping to get around $8,000 but it doesn't look like that is realistic with the mileage and condition and current prices for Thunderbirds
here is a picture of the driver's seat

The passenger seat seems fine

Surely a trim shop could do something with that seat bottom for maybe $300 and seems that would bring another $1,000 selling price... be patient if you can, yellow doesn't appeal to everyone and it may take an extra few weeks to find the right buyer. If it were mine I think I would get the seats Bill posted in msg #19 and get the car detailed. Those seats from eBay will give the overall impression that the car has been tenderly carded for.Originally posted by Gecko View PostI was hoping to get around $8,000 but it doesn't look like that is realistic with the mileage and condition and current prices for Thunderbirds

that pair of seats on ebay would be fine except it is another $200 in freight charges and i'm not sure installation is as easy as bolt off / bolt onOriginally posted by Quickdraw View Post

Here's Kelly Blue Book for a 2002 Thunderbird in fair condition with 118,000. Included are both the trade-in and private party values.Last edited by BirdsAndBugs; Jun 25, 2018, 10:01 AM.

Trading sure is the easy way. Don't neglect to calculate a worth for your time in thinking about selling it yourself. The problem will be the miles whether selling or trading. Either way addressing the seat will help you out.
I suggest yellow goes both ways. It is hard to find and can be hard to sell or really easy if you find the right buyer. Yellow Crossfire roadsters are the fastest selling of all colors. That Inka Gold Thunderbird, also a yellow, in Florida I missed certainly sold quickly. Nothing says top down fun more than yellow.

Yellow's my favorite color...in 2001, we place an order for a yellow '02 - when delivery was delayed, we bought a TB Blue instead - fixed that in '05 with the IG - that's Inca Gold. (History note: the south American Inca Tribe was possibly the largest empire in the world prior to the 16th century).Originally posted by AyPapiii View PostTrading sure is the easy way.
