Thanks Kevin, that was a very memorable trip to the Black Hills, a great event.
On to the next challenge.
A picture of your Thunderbird at a historical building, structure, battlefield or a historical site of any kind.
The attached picture is of the "emergency swing dam" which would swing across the canal in the case of a breach on the locks between Lake Superior and Lake Huron. This was only put into use once, June 9 1909. If you look to the right side of the picture you will see the hand rail on the deck of the swing dam, this was decked in last year and is used for outdoor receptions and has a band stand as well. This is a great place for summer events such as wedding receptions or dances.
Lets see your historical sites with a description.

The Pythian Castle, Springfield MO. Built early 1900s by the Knights of Pythias fraternal organization. It served as home for children of widowed members. During WWII the army ‘acquired’ it for half price and used it as a hospital, officers club and a POW internment center for German and Italian pows. Stopped here on our way back from finishing the lower 48.Last edited by MISTYEYED829; Jan 22, 2020, 08:17 AM.sigpic
