  • Extended ESP on 2005s

Just received a PM from a member that said Lombard Ford had just contacted them and Said that Ford has just sent out info that a ESP warranty could now be purchased on 2005s only. Anyone hear that or confirm?

Just called local Ford store. Gent said the used car warranty program goes back to 2005 and that any 2005 still qualifies. Any confirmation?

Apparently they see MAP and others selling coverage that they would like to sell. My MAP Platinum coverage on the 2004 I bought in 2017 was $3000 for 5 years and/or 75,000 miles. And it doesn't coverevery part! The Ford premium extended warranty even includes the "Heater Control valve" while the MAP program does not. Jim Dube' needs to follow up with Lombard for his new 2005 IG.

Their website will let you get a quote on a 2005. Stuck in 60,000 as the mileage and got these results:

          https://www.lombardfordwarrantys.com...th=72#JumpZone

Not sure if it's worth the paper it is printed on if they have no obligation to make parts available.

Excellent info...appreciate this. Car currently has 24960 on odometer. Premium 2-year care program (mileage end at 60950) would be $1458...with discount code it dropped to $1278.00. Was considering MAP, but this is a much better deal. May consider 5-year ESP - challenge for me is to trust Ford again with my cars!
            again, thanks!

Great news, at first I was lamenting the $3Gs I paid because I would have preferred the Ford deal but then I remembered "Roxy" is an '04, too old. :-(

Jim, wait a day or so and you'll probably get an offer from them for an even lower rate. Since this will probably be a one shot deal with no chance of extending, it seems like if you want one, the longer the better. Go to a different dealer to get it worked on this time around.

Bought the 5-year, 48,000 mile Premium Care Plan from Ford (I'll never drive 48K in 5 years, but it gives me the mileage cushion at a great price).
