  • Rattle under front end when I drive over road bumps slowly

This has been going on a while now. When I am driving slow and go over a dip or bump in the road I hear rattle sounds like under the front area of my car or under upper hood area. I put new struts on it right after I purchased the car. All was quiet. Now with 26 thousand miles on these Monroe struts/shocks the noise gets a little worse. Has anyone had this problem if that is what it is?

Like you, I replaced most every front end part just after I purchased my 02. It had about 115K miles and I thought it would be good preventative maintenance. All parts were changed except...the front sway bar bushings, I didn’t do those...they are a bugger to do. Two new bushings are in my parts box. Someday, maybe, I’ll get the ambition to change them out. I wonder if that could be the source of your rattle?

Check your sway bar end links.

I agree with those saying to check the sway bar bushings. My son's '06 Mustang had a thump or rattle sound (hard to explain) at only slow speed and we replaced the sway bar bushings and that fixed it. It was an easy inexpensive repair so I hope it could be that simple for you.

I checked mine there is rubber loose around them, probably original no grease ones. I looked you can get the greased fitting ones for (both) for around 25 bucks not bad. I will get to them as soon as I can.
            Thank you guys

Just got it back and wow the car seems to steer better and no rattles. Nice and quiet now.
