Dave as I have purchased the Jag top, I will be extremely interested in what you come up with.

I will be almost a month more before I can start trying to figure it out. Hopefully you will have a solution before then. I was thinking of a very thin piece of metal I have laying on the work bench. Think it may have been for hanging pipe. Numerous holes, thinking a piece could be screwed into the existing hole and a thin piece could be maneuvered over to where the Jag attaching point is a screwed through the Jag cover and screwed into a hole of the thin metal securely holding it down.

Like I said Dave get it figured out and post pictures. Sure looks good. Needs a Ford Racing oil cap!

Dave this is what Greg Nelson bought. Did yours have a emblem that you pasted on or was it the way the original came?

The cover I got was advertised as '2004 - 2007 Jaguar X350, XJ8 "Vanden Plas" engine cover. I changed nothing other than a little trimming to make it fit. I got the impression that Vanden Plas was a fancy version. Mine came as shown. It is gold with English Racing Green background.

I wondered if anyone had used one of these. Looks like it might fit well. Just a thought.

Well I just spoke with Greg Nelson's Thunderbird indentured semi-slave Stewart Weir. Seems like Stewart got out Greg's silver emblem and his hole saw and some epoxy and 3M tape and did surgery to Greg's Jaguar engine cover. Turned out pretty good!jag top.png

But it seems to be missing the plastic cover that goes over the top of the engine. The questions are... Is this indicative of an ongoing problem that I need to avoid? Are these covers hard to find, and expensive to replace? Also I didn't see a top boot in the pictures, though it does have the hard top... Are these boot things hard to replace? It has 44,000 miles on it. Please advise...
You are going to have really shop around to find a engine cover. Ford does not have any.

You can find an engine cover from a Lincoln LS or Jaguar, ( the Lincoln cover is identical to the Tbird except for the emblem ).
I just looked on eBay and there are two $300.00 - $250.00 for a Tbird, and one for a Lincoln LS at $80.95.

just sold mine and put in the mail to bob Sinickas yesterday. Sure he'll have it on the retro parts facebook page soon. Bob sure needs to make a $ or $$ but he generally sells at very fair prices IMHO!
