  • First Repair under Premium Care ESP

Weather warmed up here over last few days, but A/C wouldn't work. Took it to dealer this morning - they just called: new compressor needed. It will be ready tomorrow. Total cost to me will only be $100.

CANT BEAT THAT ANYWHERE. That likely just paid for a large portion of your warranty charge!

That's why the one and only warranty I ever bought was the deal of a lifetime. FORD ESP is the best.

Jim have to ask that after all of your horrible experiences with the Ford dealer and your previous Inca, could this be the same dealer?

Yes, it's the same dealer - it is less than a mile from our house, so Susie and I talked about it this morning and decided that this was one thing we could trust this dealer to repair (unlike the tranny and thermostat housings in the past).
AND, for us anyway, this first repair under the ESP program was a test for us with both Ford and this dealer. I will pick it up tomorrow after compressor is installed, and it goes without saying, if there's more to this story, you'll read it here!

He simply checked the blower motor...it was 58 degrees outside on that day and he didn't check to see of A/C was functioning.

TBN website did this to me yesterday on another thread...website seems to labor/struggle when I posted my comment (took a LONG time for website to post the comment), and then when it did post, it came up 3 times.

BTW, just got home with the car - blows REALLY cold air now and all is well once again. Next month we'll get the windows tinted.

By the way, make sure they change the dryer too.

Thanks Cal - can't tell you how much I appreciate all the help you've given me with this car! ...now the quick-pick may be another issue.

Well, the completed service order I now have indicates they replaced the compressor assembly, the O-ring and of course the refrigerant. Don't see the dryer listed.
