In the last month, George has had all the fluids replaced in the 02 Blue. Figured we'd start out fresh again if we were going to get the car back on the road for driving. Then it was time for tie rod ends in the front to be replaced (well needed) and new brakes and rotors for the front too. Think I'll have him get the hardtop put on it for awhile this winter. Top needs some exercise.
George has been driving the car around some. No over-heating but as I tell him, It hasn't been hot out either.

Today I did something stupid which is not that unusual for me. Managed to lock my keys in the car at my daughter;s place. At least I wasn't far from home. Used her car to go home for the spare set.

Had a couple of extras made and put one in a magnetic key case and put it behind the license plate. Also secured it with duct tape. Used once, so it sure was worth the effort.

Today I pulled the driver's seat and took it to Tom's Upholstery shop near Columbus for the slight tear's fix.

Did you get them with a programmed chip? I’m assuming that a key without the chip would still unlock the door but would stop anyone who found it from starting the car.

I’m going to go with another plan. I always have the bird key on a separate keychain and my Chrysler key is always with me.It has the house and other keys on the ring. The Chrysler will not allow you to lock the key inside. By putting my spare bird key on the Chrysler chain I will always have the extra key with me.

Drove the 007 to have my hair cut. As I open the door, a lady is excited about the color. She then tells me that her 96 year old mother owns a 2002 IY. Got to meet her mother. She’s a lovely lady and thinking of selling as she no longer drives.

I picked up an 04 a few months ago, I started to notice a slight oil smell a couple weeks ago, then a rough idle started. I checked my code and cylinder 1 was misfiring. Ater learning about all of the PM from this site i orderd a set of coils (from Amazon) and NGK iridium plugs while changing the valve cover gaskets this past weekend. I was surprised at the improvement in acceleration.
I appreciate all of the technical information you all contribute to keep these retrobirds running like new for less than $200 in parts & a weekend worth of labor!
