Lots of high mileage puppies and they all seem to be rare.

Value to others, and as it is perceived by yourself, are two very different stories. My car isn't worth a great deal in a sale, but when it stands out in the parking lot of a shopping center and people walk by slowly to look, and sometimes to share stories, that, my friends, is priceless.

At least you admit and recognize your car isn't worth a great deal in dollars. My point in the thread, with the link, was in response to Coates comment that prices are inching towards $10K. Greg responded with a link to a 42K mile 02 for $8,900. Really no need to get defensive and mix emotions and dollars together. Good grief, Spence has indicated he wouldn't sell his 02 with 100K + miles for the $40K plus he paid for it new. That my friend is priceless.

My post was not about price, but about how most people ,even ones into cars, know little or nothing about the T bird, This couple had owned a pair of late model vettes which cost them over $100 K just a few years back and were just as fascinated with this 15 year old car they knew little about, and both are in their 60,s

              Same here.
Kinda makes your day when they walk up and start a conversation. Most asked question "What year is it" and they think the car is beautiful.

I have a $100K Second Flight awarded 1963 Corvette split window....when the wife and I head out to the garage for a weekend jaunt guess which keys I grab... HINT: they aren't GM....

I worry less about the T-Bird, it gets enough spectator interest to satisfy me, its unique almost everywhere we go and its really an enjoyable cruiser...
It is fun explaining its got a Jaguar motor and lots of Lincoln parts to the unknowing....and its a polarizing vehicle...

Some hate it, others love it. Good friends have told me the black/red/silver interior "looks like a circus", its an under-powered wanna-be sportscar and the front end resembles "a catfish coming down the road".

I laugh at them; they don't "get it" at all.. I crank up Sinatra on the new Kenwood, settle into the seat and cruise sedately down the turnpike...

I neglected to put an "s" on the end of "friend", itwasn't directed at you, it was meant to be a general remark; I have since corrected this. No emotion, nor defense on this end. Yours?

Great comments by all. Just thinking about what a big deal new car showings were 60 years ago compared to today. I am one who never considered my T bird under-powered. I can't remember any that had more power. Even the big block boats.
