Stopped at Costco to fill up - it's 68 and a top-down day. A young attendant came over to the car to ask about it...it still draws glances from all ages of folks.
Yep,
Girls like my 2002 Blue.
The RN, Caregiver and Social Worker, taking care of Kay, are (3) young ladies. I showed them the Tbird in the garage and they were amazed.
The RN asked if it had leather seats. I said yes and in color.
I always tell them that they make Bikinis the same color with white top and aqua bottom.

I forgot to mention, I have applied for VA benefits again. It seems I was exposed to Agent Orange 5 times in1965.
My ship was operating inside the12 mile territorial waters of Vietnam and since winds go from west to east the Agent Orange covered all ships nearby.
The social worker said she may be able to get nursing care for Kay even though my income is over 40,000 a year.
Of course, if I were to put Kay in a nursing home for a few months then I would qualify. I would then get her back home if she is still with us.
I will let you know if I get lucky.

Hermann I'm still waiting to hear on Blue Water....CVA-63
Kitty Hawk. CVA-63
My squadron, VA-55, deployed to CVA-61 USS Ranger after I left and joined VA-195 aboard CVA-31, Bon Homme Richard.
So I went from CVA-14 USS Ticonderoga to CVA-31 both WWII carriers. No air conditioning again.
We were busy at Tonkin Gulf along with Destroyers Turner Joy DD951 and Maddox DD-731 during TICO deployment in 64.
Tico did not enter Vietnam territorial waters in 1964-65.
I got the full load Agent Orange on the Bon Homme Richard in 1965 and 1966 (5 times).
Let me know how things are going with your application if you like.
I assume you have access to websites giving Agent Orange exposure for the Kitty Hawk.

I washed Roxy and scrubbed her Sand colored top on Saturday. Then I let her air dry in the full Sun to further bleach the top. Finally took a picture and put her on Facebook. Roxy is thrilled with all the personal attention!
Greg,
Could you answer a question I have been wondering about.
Did the CVA-61, CVA-62 and CVA-63 class of carriers have air conditioning for enlisted men?
Do any members of TBN know the answer?
P.S. When I was in the NAVY there were no female sailors on aircraft carriers.

Hermann the carrier 'shitty kitty' Hawk was all male like 5000! Air condition was spotty at best. I've not seen any exposure info on Agent Orange (actually it was white) I've not heard squat...

Greg,
I will locate info for CVA-63 and mail it to you. I can not post the file here. It is too large. Or,I might just paste a picture of he main graphic page for you and send you a URL where you can go and find it.
It will give me something to do.

P.S. The VA Blue Water Sailors response for agent orange compensation, was just made effective Jan 1, 2020.
I could list the medical conditions for which there is compensation. A1c of 6 or above is one of them. The Vietnam War Era covered was from Jan 1962 through May1975.
It looks like I hijacked this thread. I apologize.

hijacking this thread is okay if you two can help each other getting some help from the VA for your agent orange exposure.
During the same years of your deployments I was on the CVS10 Yorktown. I was an IC man, interior communication. We had air conditioning spaces but only if the electronic equipment required temperature control otherwise no AC on the ship.
Thanks for reawaking some old memories.

I agree, Mike. My brother was there on the Boston (CAG-1) in 1967 or 68. He was also exposed and waiting to hear.
Good luck on the Agent Orange guys. It has screwed up more friends ( many years later} than I even want to think about.
Home today and uncovered the baby after wrapping her up the day after Christmas. Hooked her up and she started immediately. Warmed her up and then listened to CAI making noise as I went though all gears on the Select shift at more revs than I should have but she ran well and forgave me.
I got some looks from about 3 Vette owners. Damn these cars are still a blast.
