I don't recognize either of the women next to Sally in the race photo. Julie is not in the race picture. not sure she was there? will check my files again.

Here's a pic of the whole group on our first tour of the event. btw. Jeannie is directly behind Laurie (the one with her back to the camera) in this picture but only a bit of Jeannie's hair shows though she is standing next to DavidA. I took three photos of this scene and none of them show everyone's faces. Julie is not in this photo. (in fact, record checked, no photo record of her nor her car being at the event). update: attached a 2nd photo, might show more faces.

As for my hint from my post of the t-shirt logo, the hint is much stronger than what you actually see.

As for the person next to George in the race photo - It's Charlie (sixpac).

With Dot’s hint, my guess on the tshirt is Kevin from Lincoln, NE. (SR-71). Is the guy 2nd from left Joe A?

NO idea why I said me --- it's Jeannie next to Rosetta. Also I think Julie is there next to Sally

What we have correct so far:

    1. What year and at which one of the Hot Springs events did this take place?

HOT SPRINGS II - April 2005

    2. While many of us helped plan parts of the Hot Springs events over the years, who were the primary people responsible for the tradition beginning?

Gary & B.J. Himes and Mark & Laurie Ray

    3. Who designed and made the T-shirts for this event?

Getting pretty close, but hasn't been fully identified

    4. Name as many of the TBN members as you can that are in the group picture.

    Guessed so far ....

    Cal:

Lou Travalent - Correct - 6th from the left in the picture below
Toni Travalent - Not in the picture
Gary Himes - Correct - 1st on the right making the presentation in the picture below

    DavidA:

George Lang - Correct - 1st on the left in the picture below
Dot Lang - Not in the picture
Rosetta Thomas - Correct - 2nd from the right in the picture below
Me (DavidA) - Not in the picture - too funny
Sally Wisdom - Correct -4th from the left in the picture below
Laurie Ray - Not in the picture

Both Cal David said they can't tell the others, because the picture is too blurry. Pictures of a picture leave a lot to be desired. I've tried to take better picture and cropped it to include only the TBN members. I can only identify 2 of the 4 that have not been named. We had some 1st and only time attendees at that event, so 15 years later their names have left me. One of the two I can identify has been to many events and the other is deceased. With this somewhat better picture, who else is in it? (Click on the Thumbnail, then blow up the larger picture)

Here's a close up of the T-shirt. Might give you a hint as to who designed it.

btw: the car on the shirt belonged to a TBN member but I don't think he ever made it to an event.?

I see that the horse was owned by Gary Owens. Anyone know if it’s the same Gary Owens from Rowan & Martin’s Laugh In?

By the time I got it big enough to see, everybody was blurred. But I think I saw Travalent and his wife. Maybe Gary Himes. Too hard for my old eyes, I guess.

Guess that didn't jog any memories, so on to this week.

Back in the day we had several events held in Hot Springs, AR. Each time the group went to Oaklawn Park to watch the horse races. One year we sponsored a race - The Thunderbirdnest.com Classic, won by This Is Doc. The picture collage below was taken to commemorate the winner. They would not let us all go down on the track, but several of our members took part in the presentation. Some of the participants are wearing a special event T-shirt made by one of our members.

1 - Desert Thunder II - Las Vegas
    2 - Carrol Shelby Museum
3 - I still have the booklet, but don't think I have the VIN report?
