      If it's also happening in manual mode I wouldn't think it's the sensor. My guess is the blower motor is going bad

        Or bad or corroded connection.
        Wiggle connector and/or spray electronic contact cleaner into connector. Suspect connector may be at blower motor or other associated connector.

        I Ford tech will probable smack the dash (during test drive) to see if it affects the blower speed.

          Yeah, I don't want some Ford "tech" smacking the dash just to test his theory (see post #5)

            Hi all, did this problem ever get solved? My 05 is currently having issues the same with the fan stopping and starting in both a/c mode and normal heater fan mode. Did it first about a year ago a couple of times then stopped until recently and decided to start playing up again...

              Hi Ian, mine stopped misbehaving about the time I was going to go to the dealer. If it does it again and I learn anything, I'll let you know. Good luck.
