I occasional experience a strong gasoline odor inside the car when starting my 2003 Thunderbird. It seems to occur after the car has been sitting for several hours (over night). I currently have it in the shop and the mechanic cannot find any fuel leaks. Has anyone experienced this same issue? Any suggestions? Thanks!!

If you have not done so, I would have your mechanic change the fuel filter and the rubber hose that connects the filter to the steel fuel line. The filter is located on the frame under the the driver's side front wheel area. The fuel system holds high pressure against that line and filter even when the engine is not running. You may be getting vapor seepage that is not a obvious leak, but could smell in the cabin overnight. Not an expensive fix to try. Let us know what you find.

He hasn't visited TBN since December 4th....Originally posted by BillyL View PostNothing really. Just looking for a little feedback on this member's problem. was also going to suggest he have the fuel tank pressure tested for the leak as a last resort.Quickdraw

Yes, 53 new members have joined so far this month alone. Not a single one has returned after their initial join date. I'll bet not a single one of those 53 have a Thunderbird. Don't know what they are up to but it can't be good.Originally posted by BLACK BEAUTY View PostI see that all too often Harry. Interestingly early in the morning there are 'new' members, sometimes a couple of them, on site that NEVER post...PET scan today
Good luck on the scan....Quickdraw
