I got my car back yesterday after having spent some time with the mechanic. It seems that the puddle of coolant was caused by the so-called overflow hose,
part #404386182686"]3W4Z-8C289-AA. I say so-called since it's largely aluminum, with a crimped on short length of hose, which is the part that was leaking.
Brad, AKA tbirdbob.com should have burning ears by now, but he was a big help. The labor/parts was about $600, not counting the pipe part that was half again that price as a NIB OEM part. The local part price was double that, so if you have to replace this part, do some shopping, and do give Bob a call. I should note that I was given a nice Suby to drive at no cost for a week, so that has to be factored in.
